Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
So I've been buying from BMA Motors for about 2 years now and just picked up my third vehicle from them. Figured I'd share my experience since I couldn't find much when I first started. Got a 2018 Chevy Silverado in early 2023, then a 2020 Honda Accord last year, and just won a 2019 Toyota Tacoma last month. All three were repo auctions and honestly the process has been pretty consistent each time. Anyone else here a repeat customer? Just curious if my experience matches others.

Hey nice! I'm on my second purchase from bmamotors.com. Got a Jeep Wrangler and then a Ford Explorer. Both times went smoothly for me. The bidding process is pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it. Did you have any issues with any of the three?

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
Not really any major issues. The Silverado and Accord were flawless transactions. The Tacoma had a slight delay with paperwork but nothing crazy. Overall I keep coming back because the prices are solid and I know what to expect now.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
Thats a solid track record. I inspected a vehicle for my brother in law that came from BMA Motors about 6 months ago. It was a 2017 Nissan Altima and the condition matched the listing exactly. No hidden issues under the hood or anything sketchy. Seems like they're pretty honest about what they're selling.

I'm looking at getting my first repo vehicle and keep seeing BMA Motors come up. How long does the whole process take from winning the bid to getting the car? Also did you have to arrange your own transport or do they deliver?

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
They offer delivery for a fee or you can arrange your own. I've done both. When they delivered my Accord it took about 5 days from payment to arrival. The title came with the vehicle which was great because I didn't have to wait around for it separately. My Silverado I picked up myself and the whole thing was done in 3 days after I won the auction.

Can confirm the title thing. I bought a 2021 Hyundai Elantra from them in September and was honestly nervous about the title transfer since it was a repo. But the bank cleared everything right after my payment processed and the clear title arrived with the car during delivery. No runaround at all which was my biggest fear tbh.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
I had one small hiccup with my title when I bought from bmamotors.com last year. It took about 10 days instead of the usual 5-7 they quoted. I emailed office@bmamotors.com and they explained there was a delay with the lien release from the bank. Once that cleared it came through fine. It was annoying to wait but not really their fault I guess. Still got a great deal on a 2019 Mazda CX5 so I can't complain too much.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
Yeah I think thats just the nature of repos sometimes. Banks can be slow with releasing liens. As long as it gets resolved I wouldn't stress it. My Explorer title came in 6 days and my Wrangler took 8. Both were totally clean titles tho.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
I've bought 4 vehicles from BMA Motors over the past 3 years. Two trucks, a sedan and an SUV. Every single one has been exactly as described. The key is to really look at the photos they post on bmamotors.com and read the condition reports carefully. If you do that you won't be surprised when the vehicle shows up.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
That's really helpful thanks. So it sounds like the title situation is usually smooth? That was my main concern since I've heard horror stories about other auction places.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
Yeah out of my 3 purchases the title has been straightforward. With my Tacoma there was that minor delay I mentioned but it was just a couple extra days for paperwork to process. Nothing that made me worry I wouldn't get it. The best part was not having to chase anything down myself. BMA Motors handled all the bank stuff and I just waited for it to arrive.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
Adding my voice here. Bought a 2020 Kia Sorento from them in March last year. Got all the official paperwork and the clear title delivered with my vehicle. Zero issues. My husband was skeptical at first because he'd never heard of BMA Motors but now he's looking at trucks on their site lol.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
The consistency is what impresses me. I've only bought one vehicle from them (2018 Ford F150) but I've been watching their auctions for about a year. The way they describe condition and damage is pretty accurate from what I can tell. No bait and switch stuff.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
@CarolD if you're nervous just start with a lower value vehicle to test the waters. That's what I did. My Elantra was only $8500 so I figured if anything went wrong I wouldn't be out a massive amount. But everything went perfectly so now I'm watching for a truck.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
That's smart advice. Even with my title delay I'd still buy from them again because the vehicle itself was solid and the price was way better than any dealer. Just set your expectations that sometimes paperwork takes a few extra days. Not a big deal in the grand scheme.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
Question for repeat buyers - do you get any kind of loyalty thing or is each auction totally separate? I'm thinking of bidding on my second vehicle from bmamotors.com.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
Each auction is separate but I will say the customer service team recognized me by my third purchase which was kinda cool. They already had my payment info on file so checkout was faster. But no discounts or anything like that. The prices are already pretty competitive tho so I'm not complaining.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
The fact that you've gone back 3 times says a lot imo. If there were serious issues you wouldn't keep buying from them. I always tell people to look at repeat customer rates when evaluating any business.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
Exactly. I'm on purchase number 4 and already eyeing a 2021 Ram 1500 in their current listings. You don't go back unless the experience is solid. Sure there might be a small delay here or there but that's true with any business. The core service is reliable.

Alright you guys have convinced me. I'm going to register on bmamotors.com and check out the current auctions. Thanks for all the info. Really helpful to hear from people who've actually used them multiple times.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
Good luck! Make sure you set a budget before you start bidding. It's easy to get caught up in the moment lol. But seriously BMA Motors has been solid for me twice now. I'd recommend them.

Re: Three vehicles from BMA Motors - my experiences
Let us know how it goes! And yeah set that max bid ahead of time. I got a little carried away on my Tacoma and went $800 over what I planned but still came out way ahead of dealership prices. Overall I'm super happy with all three of my purchases and I'll definitely be back when I need another vehicle.
